Teresa Smith Obituary

Teresa Ann Smith passed away unexpectedly in Sacramento, California on January 22, 2019. She was born on June 9, 1951 in Sacramento, the daughter of the late James Williams Sr., and Marlene Taylor.

She grew up, went to school, and spent the early part of her life in Sacramento. She moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma in the late 60’s where she married Cornelius Kennedy and gave birth to the first two of her four children. She later returned to Sacramento in the early 70’s, where she eventually settled down got re-married to Albert Smith Sr., in 1978 and sometime later had two more children. She was a seamstress by heart. She loved to sew and would make clothing for her children when they were young. Her sewing skills allowed her to get a job at the Sacramento Valley Mattress, Inc. 

Teresa will be greatly and truly missed by all who loved her including friends, family members, former co-workers, schoolmates and neighbors.  Her life and love will live on through the memories of all who knew her and were touched by her life.

She leaves to cherish her memory her four children: Edward Kennedy (Dena), Christy Kennedy, Albert Smith & Tia Smith, her grandchildren: Takari Kennedy, Stephvaun Kennedy, Amiah Washington, Ariona Smith, Naomi Smith, Christopher Smith, Loyalty Scales & Keesha Nobles, great grandchildren: Jared Nobles, Jaida Brown & Nina Roberts.  Teresa Ann Smith is also survived by her siblings: James Williams Jr., Cecilia Weaver, Tammy Childs, Eugene Harris, Charles Harris, Patricia Williams (Steve), Gail L. White, stepsister Beverly Thomas (Willie), nieces & nephews: Arianna, Shayla, Rashon, Christa, Brianna, Eugene Jr., Johnathan, Courtney, Anisha, Nashay, Ashley, Taylor, Justin, Kameron, Kylee, Willie, April,  Zina, & Elissa.

She is preceded in death by her father James Williams Sr., mother Marlene Taylor, stepmother Sarah L. Williams, daughter Marquisha Smith and stepsister Evelyn Shepherd.
