Susan Kay Ward was born on May 25, 1966, in Visalia, California, to Charles and Audrey Murch. She passed away peacefully at her home on September 7, 2025.

Susan was raised alongside her two brothers, Rick and Kenny, and her sister, Annette. In 1982, she was baptized by Bro. Eddie Tomlinson and became a part of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Tulare, California.

At the age of 16, she moved with her mother to Oklahoma, returning to Tulare at 21. It was there she met and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Ward, for better or for worse, on July 25, 1987. They were blessed with 38 years of marriage, and four beloved sons: William Jr., Trenton, Travis, and Tanner.

Throughout their life together, Susan and Bill lived in various places along the West Coast and Midwest, where they raised their children to love the Lord and the Brethren. Their home was always open, a place of warmth and welcome to many brethren.

Susan cherished her role as a mother and, later, as a grandmother. She celebrated the arrival of each grandchild with joy and played a special role in the early life of her grandson Mason. She was always ready to help wherever she was needed. Her compassionate nature was especially evident in the loving care she gave to the sick, including several years spent caring for her mother-in-law, Beverly, until her passing.

Susan’s laughter and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her son William Ward Jr., grandson Dallan Ward, and mother-in-law Beverly Ward.

Susan is survived by her husband, Bill Ward; her sons Trenton (Rebecca), Travis (Jodi), and Tanner (Twilla); her grandchildren Ayden & Colton; Conner, Alexander, Finlee, Benjamin, & William; and Mason Ward; her parents Charles Murch and Audrey Christian; her siblings Rick & Kenny Murch, and Annette Bucher; her Best Friend Jill Mannis; and many beloved Nieces and Nephews.
