Ramesh Chandra Singh was born on December 17th 1954, in Tavua Fiji Islands where he went to Tavua primary school and Tavua college. In 1973, he went to New Zealand on a work visa for a year. At the age of 20, in 1974 he joined the Fiji Police Force. In 1976 he got married to Lalita Singh and they had 3 beautiful children, Deepak, Deepanjali, and Dheeraj Singh. He bought a piece of land in 1979 and built his own custom home from the ground up where lived with his pride and joy, his family. Not only did he provide a roof over their heads but he helped ensure his children’s success and future careers by making sure they all received an education. In his free time, he enjoyed playing as a sweeper for the Nausori Police Soccer Team, and he also played for a soccer club in Sawani. After working 27 years in the police department he retired in 2001 and started his own business. In 2007, Ramesh and Lalita immigrated to the United States of America to be alongside their kids once again. In the U.S. he worked as a security guard and was able to purchase his own home where he lived with his wife. He had 9 beautiful grandchildren, and was extremely involved in both his own kids lives as well his grandkid’s lives. Another one of his many passions included vegetable farming and growing livestock. He loved spending time with friends and family while socializing over a bowl of kava or maybe even a nice cold drink. He lived a full and great life, and he was surrounded by all those he loved before he passed on. His family and friends will go on to remember the wonderful life he lived, and we all hope that he is resting peacefully.
