Mary A Garcia went to be with Our Lord on May 17, 2022 at the age of 84 yrs. Born in Paducah, Texas to Manual Zamora Alvarado and Josefa Lopez Morales. Predeceased by her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Anselmo, brothers Jesse and Abraham, children Lisa and Alberto. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her brother Jose, two sons, Michael Sr. and Carlos, two daughters-in-laws Teresa and Carol, three grandchildren Christina, Michael Jr., and Anselmo III and three great grandchildren Lisa, Cooper and Colton.
Mary lived a life filled with faith and family forever proud of her Mexican heritage. She graduated from Norte Del Rio High School in 1957 and married her husband in December of that year. They traveled all over the United States with the military during the children’s early years and lived in Japan for a year. These were years she spoke of often and greatly enjoyed. She raised 5 children in total. During this time, she also managed to get her A.A. degree from Consumnes River College in fulfillment of a promise to her father whom she loved dearly.
Once her forever home became Sacramento she worked as a teacher and also for the Department of motor vehicles until retirement age. In her retirement she chose to work as a bilingual Teachers Assistant in the local school system where her guidance and love were passed around freely to those that needed it. Her main job at her passing was being the best great grandmother to her great grandchildren and still handing out the best advice to her children and grandchildren.
