Linda Dalmas Obituary

LINDA LOUISE DALMAS

Linda was born on November 14, 1947 in Santa Barbara, California.  Around the age of two her family moved to San Francisco where a year later her brother William “Billy” was born. Her mom, Ramona “Mona” was divorced with her two children and moved to Vallejo and married Harry Dalmas.  Linda grew up there until they family moved to what is now West Sacramento and then after a few years our family moved to Fair Oaks where Linda graduated from San Juan High School in 1965.  Our family then moved to Sacramento where she got her first job at the Sacramento Inn.  While working at the Sacramento Inn they went out on strike and she soon went to work at Heritage Convalescent Home as a diet aide.  Linda went back to school at American River College to earn her degree in Nutrition and Kitchen Management.  By getting this degree, she was able to work her way up the ranks to become the Kitchen Manager.   Our whole family was very proud of her accomplishment and all the hard work.  After working there for many, many years, Linda decided to change careers again.  She went to work for Grant Joint Union High School District as a substitute clerical. After working for about 18 months as a substitute Linda was hired as an Attendance Clerk at Rio Tierra Junior High School where she worked until she retired at the age of 65.  She was then at the age of 69 she was diagnosed with breast cancer just like her mom. After surgery and chemo treatments Linda was declared she was in remission after her health started also declined and the doctors said Linda could no longer live by herself.  At this point she moved in with my niece, Jessica and her family in Sutter County.  After a couple years they moved to Sacramento County.  As her health declined even further Jessica ended up doing Linda’s entire care.  On December 30, 2022, Linda took a fall, and then on Monday, January 2, 2023 she was sent to the hospital and was admitted to Mercy General Hospital where after five days Linda passed away on Friday morning, January 6, 2023.

She is survived by a brother, Russ Dalmas; sister, Sharon and Bob (Sp) Nichols; Nieces and Nephews, Jessica and Richard (sp) Hill, Michael, Brooklynn, Richard Jr., Jeremiah; Rachel LoBue and Mark; Michelle and George (Sp) Arellano, Alex, Michael, George Jr, Ashley and Grant (Sp) Hohulin; and many other nieces and nephews.
