John Henry Berger (Sept. 8, 1935 - Feb. 17, 2025)

John H. Berger, retired public school teacher, Catholic leader, past president of San Juan Teachers Association, and inveterate joke-teller, died at home in Sacramento on Feb. 17, 2025. John and Barbara Berger have touched many lives in the local Sacramento community and around the world. 

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church (3235 Arden Way, Sacramento). The rosary begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, John requested donations be sent to Sacramento Loaves & Fishes in his name (secure.sacloaves.org or mail to PO Box 13495, Sacramento, CA, 95813).
