Gloria Mary Gonzales

Gloria Mary Gonzales was born in El Paso Texas on February 21, 1945 to Martin Beltran and Francisca Dominguez. Surrounded by the love of her family, she passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2022. 

Gloria was preceded in death by her loving friend and husband, Barney (“Tony”) who left us January 18, 2021. While we continue to navigate the heartbreak this loss has brought our family once again, our light will always be the unconditional love they left with us. 

Gloria is survived by her two sons, Tony and Ed (wife, Celia), loving grandchildren, Selina, Sabrina (fiancé, Frank Rosalia), Mia and Edward, great-grandchildren, Isabella, Beau, Serina, and Sergio. Our mom and grandma was beautiful, intelligent, and so modest when it came to her many talents. Self-taught and self-sufficient, she lived alone with many visits from the people she loved and cared for. Her children and grandchildren only had to mention a craving to her and she would call back within the week saying the meal was ready for pickup. 

We will forever cherish the times shared with her - casino trips, birthdays, holidays, evening drive-bys that would turn into late-night visits. We’ll never forget Thanksgiving and Christmas with her Elvis Presley music crooning in the kitchen, the way she never sat down; constantly asking if we needed anything, “Beer, soda, wine, water?” Her delicious cakes and fresh tortillas, apricot turnovers - always made with love and always just a call away. Now, like her, always a cherished memory. 

Gloria and Barney will be interred at a later date at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, our family would appreciate donations made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
