Glenn Felion, formerly known as John Felion, was born January 27, 1939, in Westwood, CA and died January 24, 2026 in Carmichael, CA.
Glenn (John) was the middle of 9 children. As a friendly, athletic and scholarly youth, Glenn entered St. Anthony’s Seminary at age 14, beginning a long journey to become a Catholic priest, adopting the name Glenn. He was proud of bringing joy to worship during his time as a priest. Although he left the priesthood in 1970, he maintained lifelong friendships with his fellow seminarians, getting together for reunions and as an active email participant, sharing the memories and life updates as well as enthusiastically debating theology and politics.
Glenn worked for the State of Washington Department of Social and Health Services Division of Developmental Disabilities as a Social Worker, advocating for the rights of services for those with disabilities.
He married Virginia Brandli and helped raise 2 of her children, as well as his daughter, Jennifer. Their marriage dissolved after 25 years and they maintained a loving friendship for the rest of their lives.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Rod, Sr and Iona Felion; his siblings Frances Greer, Rod Felion Jr., Sharon Rapp, Larry Felion, Alan Felion, and his former wife Virginia.
He is survived by daughter Jennifer Felion (Dana Nordaune) and Bahr Klein (Thomas). He is also survived by siblings Mike Felion (Katherine), Sr Jeanne Felion, SSS, Alicia Felion Uhouse, former wife Jess Barrow, and many nieces, nephews, step -kids and -grandchildren, in-laws and cousins.
Glenn will be remembered for his caring and free-spiritedness. He continued to reach out to others and had a positive effect on them. He enjoyed traveling, reading, country music, tennis. He also greatly enjoyed dancing whenever the opportunity presented itself, especially in his later years.
There will be a celebration of life on April 18, 2026, at 9:30 am at Calvary Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Center in Citrus Heights, CA.
If so desired, memorial donations can be made to Stanford Settlement Neighborhood Center or to the ACLU.
Much gratitude to the staff at Atria El Camino Gardens in Carmichael for their loving care of Glenn.
