Geraldine “Geri” Daveiga,age 80, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, in Elk Grove, California.

Geri was born on September 7, 1945, in Sacramento, California, to her parents, John and Virginia. She grew up in a large and loving family alongside her 12 brothers and sisters, forming lifelong bonds and cherished memories that remained close to her heart.

Geri spent much of her life in Sacramento, where she built a life defined by kindness, resilience, and deep connections with those around her. She dedicated 40 years of service to Thrifty Drug Store, where her strong work ethic and friendly nature made a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

Geri will be remembered for her warm heart, spirited personality, and her truly contagious laugh that could light up any room. She had a passion for cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and rarely missed a game, often sharing her enthusiasm with family and friends. One of her favorite sayings, “you got that right,” will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her.

Affectionately nicknamed “Blue Lids” for her love of wearing bright blue eyeshadow, Geri embraced her personal style with confidence and joy—just one of the many ways she expressed her vibrant personality.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and cherished her traditions. Celebrating her birthdays at El Novillero was a special ritual she looked forward to each year. Geri also had a love for Mexican and Chinese cuisine, and she never passed up one of her favorite treats—burrito supremes from Taco Bell.

A devoted sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Geri held a special place in the hearts of her family. Though she had no children of her own, she played a meaningful and lasting role in the lives of her nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on April 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at North Sacramento Funeral Home.

Geri will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
