George Noel Ruhberg, Jr., born October 10, 1925, St. Paul, Minnesota, entered into eternal rest, August 3, 2021, he was 95.
George was a WWII Veteran having served in the Army Air Corps as a top turret gunner flying missions in a B-24 aircraft over the Burma/China (the hump) corridor while stationed in India for many years.
Upon the end of the war, the family re-located to California where George completed his studies at UCLA, and while there met and married Kay Tompkins (Katie) and together celebrated 64 years of marriage. George was Director of Personnel, California State University-Northridge (CSUN), member of Sigma Alfa Epsilon fraternity, an avid hunter and for many years-strong supporter of the Colony Hunt Club of California and of Duck’s Unlimited (National organization conserving, restoring and managing North America’s natural habitat for the disappearing water fowl).
He was preceded in passing by his loving wife Kay(Katie), sister Emily, parents-George Noel Ruhberg, MD, and Gertrude Hauser Ruhberg. He is survived by his loving family, daughter Shari, son George III, granddaughter Andrea, grandson CJ, Cousin Charlie, sister-in-law Paula-(Annie)-Jones, brother-in-law Ron and of course-his loving sisters-Trudi, Noel and Virginia.
George was very happy having settled in the Woodlake neighborhood of Northern Sacramento. He spoke many times about his neighbors, friends and family having honored him at his 90th birthday. An enjoyable celebration by all. He was kind, always a smile, friendly to everyone he met and never met a person he did not like. He will be missed immensely. Trudi, Noel and Virginia wish to thank Shari, George, III, Soledad Arcila and Delsa Claridge for their thoughtfulness and kindness given to George.
