In Loving Memory of Garypal Singh Virk

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Garypal Singh Virk, who left us far too soon at the age of 39. Born June 2, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, Gary made Sacramento his home for the last 21 years, where he built a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections.

He was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him. He was known for his bigger-than-life personality, infectious humor, and rare ability to connect with people of all ages. Whether you were a young child or an elderly adult, Gary could sit down, strike up a conversation, and make you feel like the most important person in the room.

For over 17 years, Gary served as a dedicated Respiratory Therapist at Woodland Memorial Hospital. His compassion, care, and commitment left a lasting impression on his patients, colleagues, and the entire community. In addition to his work at Woodland, Gary also worked at Sacramento Rehabilitation Hospital, where he was recently promoted to Respiratory Therapy Lead and proudly led his department. Gary’s work ethic was nothing short of extraordinary. Balancing two demanding roles, he poured his heart and soul into both, showing up every day with tireless energy and unwavering dedication. His legacy in healthcare is one of kindness, integrity, and meaningful human connection.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Arvinder Pal Singh Virk, and his grandfather, Gunwant Singh Virk. He is survived by his loving mother, Kamaljit Kaur Virk, his cherished grandmother, Gurmej Kaur Virk, and a large family of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will miss him deeply.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at North Sacramento Funeral Home (725 El Camino Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95815).

Gary's warmth, humor, and love will live on in the memories of everyone he touched. Though he may be gone, the joy he brought into this world will never be forgotten.
