On August 4, 2021, Dr. Fouad R Samaan succumbed to his eight year battle to dementia, fifteen days before turning 86. He was born in Cairo, Egypt on August 19, 1935.
While living in Egypt, Dr. Samaan attended Veterinarian school at the University of Cairo. In 1963, he immigrated to the US and enrolled at University of California, Davis, from where he would graduate and obtain his Veterinary License to practice in the US. Over time he became a very successful and recognized veterinarian thanks to his unfailing work ethic. He gladly accepted the opportunity to mentor young Veterinarians whenever he could. He touched many lives with his passion and generosity.
As a result of his kind-hearted spirit and pleasant personality, Dr. Samaan was loved by many. He was a charismatic man, always smiling and friendly to whoever crossed his path. He loved to travel, play with his dog Candy and cat Oscar, and was an active member of his church. Above all else, he loved to spend quality time with his family and friends. His eyes truly lit up when he saw his grandchildren.
Dr. Samaan’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his children, Nivie and Hesham, grandchildren Jaiden, Maya, Ava, and Olivia; and sister’s Mohga Boctor and Nabila Guirguis. He is preceded in death by his parents, Riad Samaan & Aida Marcos.
His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. Services will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 at Saint Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, 200 Cirby Way Roseville Ca 95678. Mass will begin at 10 am. Burial to take place immediately after at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 6700 21st Avenue, Sacramento, Ca 95820.
