Emily Mae Ruhberg Louw, born March 28, 1928, St. Paul, Minnesota, entered into eternal rest, December 3, 2019. This is in memory of our dear sister, who was a dear aunt, a dear cousin and a dear friend to many. She too was kind, soft spoken and enjoyed many years in her home and in her garden while living in the Woodlake neighborhood of Northern Sacramento.
Since her early childhood, Emily always had a deep love for the Theater Arts. Entering UCLA she joined the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and soon completed her Undergraduate and Master’s Degrees, majoring, in what she loved the most, Theater Arts. She then lived in New York appearing as an actress for many years. Her fun, long stage appearance was touring the United States in the musical, “The Music Man.” While on this tour she met and married Alan Louw and together celebrated 33 years of marriage. Settled in Sacramento she became Director inspecting pre-schools within The Child Development Division for the State of California.
Emily was a long-time, faithful, strong supporter of the Philharmonic Opera Company of Sacramento and also served on this Board for many years.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband-Alan, sister-in-law-Kay (Katie), father-George Noel Ruhberg, MD, mother-Gertrude Hauser Ruhberg. She is survived by her loving sisters-Trudi, Noel and Virginia; brother-in-law-Ron; niece- Shari; nephew-George-III; grandniece-Andrea; grandnephew-CJ; and cousin-Charlie.
Emily was a sweet, very kind lady and is missed by her sisters, nieces and nephews.
