Elsie Rebecca Esola Obituary

Elsie Rebecca (Becky) Esola was born on April 21, 1927, in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, and

passed away on July 28, 2025, in Southaven, Mississippi, at the age of 98.

After graduating from high school in Pennsylvania, Becky traveled with her aunt to Reno,

Nevada, where she met the love of her life, James Charles Esola Jr. They were married on

February 12, 1948, in Panama and later made their home in Sacramento, California. There, they

raised their family and shared 33 happy years together until James’s passing in 1981. Becky

remained in Sacramento until 2015, when she moved to Mississippi to be closer to her son,

Andy.

Family was always at the heart of Becky’s life. She treasured time with her siblings, delighted in

visits with her sons and their families, and was a devoted fan of sports—especially the many

years she traveled to Arizona for spring baseball training. Known for her delicious lemon

meringue pie and her famous Christmas cookies, she also loved playing dominoes and cards, and

spent countless happy hours working puzzles with friends, neighbors, and loved ones.

Becky was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Charles and Mildred Williams;

her brothers, Josh, Frank, Dick, Tom, Will Williams, and sister Sally Cary,. She is survived by

her sons Jim (Marcia) and Andy (Sarah) Esola; her grandsons Jimmy, Luke, and Andrew Esola;

“granddogs” Winston and Cooper; and sister Joanne Vail.

Becky will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and unwavering love for her family—a

legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
