Daniel Thomas Spolarich

Daniel Thomas Spolarich passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in Sacramento, California.  He is survived by his children Joe & Jenna Spolarich, mother Helen, brothers Gary (Judy) & Ed (Roseanne), niece Lindsay and companion Joy. Dan worked locally in the Sacramento area as a Funeral Director for 43 years.  In 1976, at the age of 19, Dan started his career in the funeral industry as a service attendant at A.J. Nicoletti Funeral Home on Folsom Boulevard in Sacramento.  Through years of hard work and loyalty as a funeral director and skilled embalmer, he advanced to management and was well known in the Sacramento area professionally. 

Dan transitioned to the North Sacramento Funeral Home at the beginning of 2004.  He quickly proved himself a key employee with his dedication to the service of families and his attention to detail. His co-workers fondly remember his sense of humor and funny quips for all situations.  Most people may not know this, but Dan was an accomplished electric guitarist and enjoyed playing in his spare time. He also enjoyed attending 49er games at Candlestick and golfing with his brothers and colleagues.    

Over the years, he held leadership roles in various local organizations including Optimist International, the Sacramento Area Funeral Directors Association and the California Funeral Directors Association.  Dan was a man of great faith and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.  He was an active parent in the Town & County Lutheran School and enjoyed hosting and participating in their annual fundraising events including charity golf tournaments and auction dinners. Dan will be missed by all who knew him. 

Family & Friends are welcome to attend the Visitation on Friday, March 5 from 4:00 – 6:00pm at North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95815. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 6, at 10:30am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1500 27th St., Sacramento, CA 95816. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation.
