Dan Boudda Boutavan, age 80 of Elk Grove CA died peacefully at home on Tuesday 20, 201 at 3:30PM surrounded by his family. Dan is survived by his beloved wife Manh, daughter Kristina, Khone (Lae), Seum, Lloyd (Judy), Samantha (David), and 13 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sons Pouvanh and Sengpeth; his parents Ontha and Bouta. Dan was born in Xiang Khouang, Laos. He was in the Lao military for 15 yrs. Dan met his wife Manh and they married in Dec. 1965. Dan and his family escaped to the Nong Kai refugee camp in 1979 in hopes for a better future for his family. Fortunately, with the help of Dr. Anderson, his wife Rusk, and the amazing folks at Friends Meeting Church in Minnesota the family was sponsored and immigrated to the Minneapolis, Minnesota in June 1981. They moved to California in June 1986 after Sengpeth graduated from High School. He worked as a mechanical assembler building ultrasound equipment at Acuson/Siemens for over 15 years. He retired at the age of 60 to be a full-time grandpa. He loved his family so much and cherished family all the family gatherings. Family, he says is the best medicine. Those who met him loved, respected, and was inspired by him. He was the most gracious host. Dan had a smile that would light up of the room. He will truly be missed. A memorial service will be held at North Sacramento Funeral home on Saturday July 24th, at 2PM. Burial will be held at East Lawn Cemetery on Monday July 26th at 1:30PM.
