Barbara Ann (Jansen) Martin
Born September 8, 1964 – Passed on March 12, 2021
Barbara passed away peacefully in Roseville, CA at Sutter Health Hospital at the early age of 56.
Barbara was born in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and a big fan of the Vikings, even though she spent most of her life in California. She had an Associates degree, graduated top of her class at the FAA Air Traffic Control School, and held a college certification for Travel and Tourism.
Barbara was very loving, compassionate, open, and caring. She strove to be the best at what she did as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, Air Traffic Controller, and Travel Consultant. She loved helping people and was so happy to follow her passion of being in the travel business and supporting her friends and families travel dreams. She was also very proud of her time working for the ATC and loved the friends she made there.
She worked hard to be a good mother, supporting all their goals and dreams without question or hesitation. She never doubted them or made them doubt themselves. She loved them so much. There is no doubt that love and support was reflected in her granddaughters as well. She loved being a grandmother.
Barbara reconnected with her brother Chad a couple of years ago, whom she was close to growing up his cheerleader and motivator. She also loved talking with Chad’s son Peyton. She was excited to have them back in her life.
As a wife, she was so supportive and loving. She loved unconditionally, wanting the best for us and showed me how to embrace life. We embraced traveling and met many great people who became our friends. She will always be loved for what she has given us, and sorely missed.
She is survived by husband Paul Martin of Roseville, CA; Son Christopher Petricka, wife Shannon, and granddaughter Avery of Hutto, TX; Daughter Katelyn Cobb, husband Cory, and granddaughter Amelia of Hutto, TX; Daughter Jane Petricka of Austin, TX; And brother Chad Jansen and nephew Peyton of St Paul, MN. She was preceded in death by her mother Carol Jansen and brothers David Jansen and George Jansen.
Barbara ashes were released in the Monterey Bay on June 18, 2021. Any memorials should be sent to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, as that was her favorite charity
