Amado F. Sevilla, 94, passed away on June 8, 2022, surrounded by his closest family. Amado is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Maria Guadalupe Sevilla as well as his six children: Maria Sevilla, Armando Sevilla, Jose Sevilla, Irma Mejia, Steven Sevilla and Doris Figgins. He will be sorely missed by his 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Amado was the last of his siblings to be called to heaven.
Amado was born in Juchitlan in the state of Jalisco, Mexico in September of 1927 and at age 18 served in the army of Mexico for five (5) years before marrying his dear wife in July of 1958. He migrated with his family to the United States to improve their quality of life in 1967. He worked in many farms and fields throughout the western US picking, among other items, peaches, cucumbers, strawberries and cherries. Later he also worked as a crosswalk guard. He retired in 1972 and his family settled in Sacramento where they all continue to live.
Amado had a passion for geography and world history and more than anything wanted his family to live their best life. He was an extremely determined man who fought and overcame throat cancer at age 75.
