Alvin Victor Stuti Prasad

July 2, 1967 – December 28, 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Alvin Victor Stuti Prasad on December 28, 2025, at the age of 58 in Sacramento, CA.

Alvin was born on July 2, 1967, in San Mateo, CA. Alvin was a beloved son of Clarence and Elizabeth Prasad, beloved father to Jocelyn and Andrea Prasad, beloved ex-husband to Urmila Prasad, and beloved grandfather to two grandkids. He grew up in Redwood City, CA attending Garfield Elementary, McKinley Junior High School, and Menlo-Atherton High School. As a child, Alvin loved to watch his mom cook and help make roti for family dinners. He liked too also help with baking and enjoyed taking baked goods to his neighbors. He developed a love for gardening in middle school and continued to have a love for plants well into adulthood. Alvin’s home consisted of many indoor, outdoor plants that he would share with family and friends.

Alvin received his Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University. Before moving to Elk Grove, CA, he worked as an Occupational Therapist in the Bay Area. After moving to the Elk Grove/Sacramento, CA area, Alvin dedicated over 20 years as a Human Services Specialist at County of Sacramento Department of Human Assistance. To him, his co-workers were like a second family, sending his co-workers ‘good morning’ emails every day. His co-workers looked forward to his kind, caring, humorous personality and vibrant outfits.

Alvin was a proud, joyful, gay man. He happily enjoyed showing his love for the rainbow and the pride connected to the rainbow. He did not shy away from expressing himself. He had a strong love and support for the LGBTQ+ community, spreading that love with every step he took.

Alvin has left a beautiful mark on many people.

There will be a funeral service at North Sacramento Funeral Home on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2 pm.
