Zane Maddox, 79 of Chicago, Illinois passed away December 20, 1918.
A memorial service honoring Zane’s memory will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 9:45 am at North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Ave. Sacramento, California with Pastor John Treherne officiating.
Zane is proceeded in death by his father James Maddox, mother Anna Victoria Maddox. His brothers, James and Jerome, his sisters, Joan and Eloise, his son, James his daughter, Debbie and his ex-wife Betty Maddox.
Zane is survived by his wife Terri, daughter Kimberly, step-son Joseph, grandchildren, Javier, Siobhan, Aaron, Adriana, Scarlett, and Maeve.
Zane grew up in Chicago and attended Chicago Prefatory Seminary for 3 years. He decided to make a change and graduated from St. Elizabeth High School in 1957.
Zane joined the Air Force right after graduation and traveled all over the world. 22 years later, he retired in 1979 while stationed at Mather Air Force Base. He settled in Rancho Cordova and went to work for the Postal Service. Zane attended Sacramento State University and received his BA in Business Administration and Human Resources. Zane had a successful 20-year career with the Postal Service was ultimately promoted to Sr. Labor Relations Analyst. He retired from the Post Office in 1999, after being recruited by Sacramento Municipal Utility District for their Labor Relations Department. Zane had planned to work for SMUD for 5 years, but he enjoyed the company and his team so much, that he stayed for 16 years, retiring in 2015.
After retiring, Zane decided it was time to spend time enjoying traveling with his wife, Terri.
Think of Zane as living in the hearts of those he touched, for nothing loved is ever lost, and Zane was loved so much. The song may have ended, but the melody lingers on.
