On Friday, April 12th, Paul Gillam Myers finally got to meet the Lord he had worshiped all his life...
He was born in 1930, in Lena IL. He grew up on a farm with 10-brothers and sisters. While at Bethany Bible School, in Chicago, IL, he met cutie, Evelyn Mae Boyer and they were married in 1951. After college, he found work in the insurance/financial industry and moved to Denver, CO.
They moved to CA in 1959 to work in another insurance office. He eventually found himself working for The Golden 1 credit union and after 25-years, retired in 1993. He was an original DIYer, always keeping the cars running and house standing. He kept the neighborhood clean, by recycling cans and during storms, kept the street drains open. He enjoyed our annual trailer camping trip in August. Myers Flat, CA was our usual destination (felt like we owned the town). In retirement , when he wasn’t visiting family, he headed up the buildings and grounds team at the North Baptist Church in North Sacramento. He made sure the clothes/food closet opened as scheduled, heat/cooling worked and the building was secured. He loved singing in the choir for over 40-years, which included plays, recitals, solos and duets.
He is survived by his wife of 67-years, Evelyn Myers(Boyer), children Patricia Singleton (Paul) Spokane WA, John Myers (Myra) Elk Grove, Sharon Thompkins (John) San Diego and Ron Myers (DeAnna) Sacramento ; and grandchildren (Jeremy, Jarrod, Marlon, Hailey, Hannah, Ilaria, Jared, Juliann, Jordan and Natalee). Preceded in death by grandson Micah Thompkins.
