Nancy Smith-Dramis passed away on January 30, 2018. Born in Sacramento in 1936, Nancy graduated from Sacramento High School and the University of California, Davis. After obtaining advanced degrees she served Sacramento High Schools for over 35 years – minus a memorable two year adventure teaching in Alaska in the sixties. She was a Spanish teacher, department chair and vice principal. After retiring she continued to teach and consult with several graduate programs.
Nancy and her husband, Nick, loved travel and visited much of the United States and more than a dozen other countries.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter E. Smith, her mother, Alice C. Smith, and her husband, Nicholas D. Dramis. Nancy is survived by her sister, Sue E. Corbett, Sue’s husband Gene, numerous cousins including her care-partner in recent years, Joseph Hansen and countless friends, fellow teachers and students.
Nancy will be inurned with Nick at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
