Lura Spaulding

Born on April 11, 1935, in Woodland, Ca to Audrey and Lloyd Doneen. Passed away on June 8, 2017, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Lura was raised in Davis, along with her brother Michael, and sisters Sharon and Patricia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Paul. Loving mother of Theresa (Rich Saalsaa), Mark (Sandy) and Peter (Karen), grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 8. Lura was employed by the San Juan Unified School District for 25 years in Food Service. As an active member of her church, Our Lady of the Assumption, she was involved with the Women's Council, Pert Club, Bunco group, Martha and Mary Ministry among other groups. She also volunteered with Loaves and Fishes and was known for her helpful and caring manner especially with those who were ill or in need. In her later years, Lura travelled extensively with family members, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered and missed by many. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael on June 17 at 12:00 p.m. with a reception immediately following.
