Agricultural Scientist Turned Electrical Engineer S. Bur Singh Bal Is No More

Our beloved S. Bur Singh Bal breathed his last at 2 PM on July 8, 2019, at his residence in Folsom near Sacramento, California. 

S. Bur Singh Bal was born on August 12, 1930, in village Jalari, near Baba Bakala District Amritsar, Punjab State, India. He earned his Bachelors in Agriculture from Khalsa College, Amritsar in 1953. He migrated to the US in 1954 as a student to realize his American dream arriving by a 1-month ship journey with only $1.00 in his pocket. He completed his Masters in Agronomy from UC Davis in 1957, and to stay in this great country, he earned another degree in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley in 1963. S. Bur Singh Bal served as a qualified Engineer with PG&E in different capacities. He married Sukhbir Kaur Gill in 1965. 

S. Bur Singh Bal completed several national engineering projects based from jobs he held in California, Louisiana and Washington State. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, daughter, son-in-law and 5 grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by so many, but never forgotten. We all pray that his noble soul rests In peace, and he unites with Waheguru blissfully.

10 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Ave, Sacramento, CA 95815 followed by religious service 1 PM at Gurdwara Sahib West Sacramento, 2301 Evergreen Ave, West Sacramento, CA 95691
