Adolfo “Rudy” Ortigoza Agra, a resident of Rio Linda, passed away on November 26, 2018 at the age of 77. Rudy was born on July 22, 1941 in Pila, Laguna, Philippines, to Paterno Zamar Agra and Feliza Noceja Ortigoza Agra. He grew up in what is now Masapang, Victoria, Laguna and graduated from St. Anthony Academy in Pila and Araneta University in Malabon, Manila.
During those years, he was a steady constant in his father’s rice fields, cultivating his lifelong love of the agricultural arts.
He proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years, a veteran of the Vietnam War and served onboard the USS Kansas City, the USS Talladega, the USS Samuel Gompers and the USS Midway. He went on to retire from the US Postal Service at the age of 70.
He had a big heart and a generous, friendly spirit, which he freely shared with his family, friends and the community.
He was a Parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes, Divine Mercy and most recently St Lawrence. He volunteered regularly in the kitchen at Recollections in Christianity retreats and he was a constant face at the McClellan Commissary.
Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Corazon, daughter Lizzie, son Raendy, daughter-in-law Irene, his three grandchildren: Raendy Adolfo (RJ), Iliana and Romeo, sisters and brothers: Velie, Eva, Aida, Hermie, Marite, Grace, and Jun and his beloved extended family which included many lifelong friends.
