Isabel P. Maez was born in Sacramento, California to father Carmen Perez and mother Agapita Torres.  She passed away at the age of 79 surrounded by her loving family.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband Manuel A. Maez, parents Carmen Perez & Agapita Torres and siblings Vicky Valdez, Tina Perez, Nick Perez and Tino Perez.

She is survived by Survived by her sisters Carmen Gonzales & Frances Ramirez.  She will be greatly missed by her children Theresa Garcia, Michael Maez & Debbie (Leonard) Rodd. She will be forever remembered by her grandchildren Gilbert Aguirre, Sonia Damiano, Michael Maez, Angel Maez, Leonard Rodd III & Yvette Maez.  She also had 8 great grandchildren who will miss her dearly.  She was surrounded by nieces, nephews, in-laws and many wonderful friends that she loved.  All of her extended family and friends meant the world to her.  She always held her family members close to her heart, regardless of if they were around or not.  She had the biggest heart ever and we will miss her dearly. Despite her love of family, she was very independent and did not like to be fussed over.  She was a devoted Giants and 49ers fan.  She also loved going to Thunder Valley with her sisters Carmen & Frances.  She especially like to go with her grandson Gilbert, as they enjoyed time spent together.

Her biggest love was her husband, whom she met in the tomato fields.  It was love at first sight and soon they would be married and have 3 wonderful children.  Although her husband preferred that she stay home and take care of the children, she preferred to work.  Her first job was at Kress Inc., where she worked in the cafeteria as a food manager.

She stayed with the company until they closed the business.  From there, she worked in the café at the state Capitol building.  She worked there for several years until she retired.  Both she and her very close friend Cherry Gibbs were always out and about at garage sales and thrift stores.  Over the years, Cherry became her extended family sister.  When her husband retired, they began taking road trips with Bill and Donna Headricks, their very close friends.  After her husband became ill, she took loving care of him until he passed away.  She was a very strong woman and an angel at the same time.  Towards the end of her life, she enjoyed playing her tablet casino games and playing with Brandy, the family cat.

She enjoyed life to the fullest and she wanted all of her family to love each other always, no matter what.  In one of the last notes that she wrote, she indicated that family members should keep in touch with each other, always.

Her Visitation is at 5pm on Wednesday, November 2nd at North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Ave., Sacramento, CA 95815, with the Rosary beginning at 6:30pm.  Her Mass of Christian Burial is at 10am on Thursday, November 3rd at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 1717 El Monte Ave., Sacramento.  A Committal Service will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 6700 21st Ave., Sacramento.
