Greg Ignacio Rios passed away on November 24, 2017; and the world lost a beautiful, kind and compassionate human being. He was born on February 7, 1944 in Mexico D.F. He became an U.S. Citizen when he was a child. He lived in Sacramento the majority of his adult life. He lived a full and productive life, always living his life on his own terms. He was a champion of Justice for his Raza at every point of his adult life. He brought joy to his spouse and to his family during his lifetime and his absence will leave a deep sadness for the rest of our lives. He was predeceased in death by Francisco Rios, his father and Socorro Rios, his mother. He is survived by his family and friends: Sylvia Velez-Rios, his wife; by his sons, Keith Rios (Noelle) and Carlos Rios (Angela); by his granddaughters: Catalina, Alexa, Brazyl and Shiann; by his siblings: Gereon Rios, Juan Rios (Kim),Luci Rios Swan (Ken), Octaviano Rios (Doreen), Pilar Rios Gustavino (Dominic), Sonia Rios, Lupe Rios, Angelica Rios Carpenter (Hugh); Trisha Ohl (Larry), David Rios (Lori), Jupiter Rios, Richard Rios (Cynthia) and Elizabeth Rios; by his siblings in law: Daniel Velez, Richard Velez, Maria Velez, Irma Velez and Tomas Velez; by his nieces and nephews, who knew him as "Uncle Greg": Tony, Temoc, Andro, Eon, Isabella, Hannah-Socorro, Frank, Victoria, Sandra, Bianca [Goddaughter] and Danielle (Kiki); by his Aunt Connie Rios and by All of his friends at the McDonald's Coffee Shop.
