Francis Irwyn Riggs

Riggs, Francis "Fran" Irwyn, born in Minden, Nebraska on October 14, 1919 and passed away on May 26, 2016 in Sacramento, California.  He is survived by his wife Barbara, children: Janet Riggs, Brian (Jodi) Fauver, Gail (Claude) Smith, Mark (Sandy) Fauver, Jean (David) Mitchell, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Dr. Kay Riggs M.D. and grandson Ben Fauver.

Fran will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, avid golfer and active community member. He was a Charter Member of the Land Park Breakfast Club since 1955 and had perfect attendance with the Land Park Lions Club for 57 years. He started his working career as a mortician and went on to own a chain of 5 shoe stores called The Shoe Box, which spanned from West Sacramento to the South Shore of Lake Tahoe. Fran finished his working career as a well-respected mortician in the Sacramento area. He will be dearly missed.

Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, June 3rd at 1:00 P.M. at The North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95815. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fran's name to: Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741.
