Bryan "MUMBLES" McAlpine

*BBBTTB*

11/08/1951- 02/03/2017

Bryan Lee McAlpine aka "MUMBLES" was born November 08, 1951 in St Paul, MN to Cyril V. McAlpine & Doris "Dorie" Mae McAlpine(Edholm). Bryan was the second of 3 sons born to Cyril & Dorie. The only son not born with debilitating genetic  disease "Muscular  Dystrophy".  Unfortunately Steven & David werent the only relatives who suffered.

April 13, 1955, Bryan not quite 4 years old was excited to be lunch with his father & uncles of  of Dayton, MN. only the kool aid had been served. The rig Cyril was operating for  hit a live line & tragically Cyril was electrocuted by 25,000 volts of electricity he was killed instantly. McAlpine's Well Drilling & Excavation Bryan was whisked away by his without never really knowing going around him although not a first hand witness,  the experience would forever impact his life.  Bryan began to stutter & it was difficult for him to get his words out is why he would later be given the name "MUMBLES".

Cyril left behind a widowed Dorie,  Steven Craig (4) & Bryan Lee (3). Its said that when god closes a door he always opens a window, Baby David Cyril McAlpine was born November 16, 1955, almost 7 months to the day of Cyril's passing. I cant say for sure if Cyril knew that he & Dorie were expecting. The loss that Bryan experienced before the age 10 was more than any child should experience in my opinion what made my dad so passionate about his family, friends & capturing the moment with as many photos as possible. ๐Ÿ“ท He knew that in an instant it could all be taken away. โณ

The late 1950's Dorie met Warren McCabe who right away took Bryan in as his as his own son.  Bryan loved, respected & was very grateful to Warren for this. ๐Ÿ‘ช Looking back through photos of the 2 of them its evident they truly enjoyed each others company Warren filled a void for my dad. ๐Ÿ‘

Bryan soon welcomed little brother Timothy James McCabe, child #1 born to Warren and Dorie.

Warren, Dorie, Bryan & Tim ๐Ÿ‘ชleft Minnesota behind & came to LA, California & soon welcomed 2 new additions, sissy Kathleen "Kathy"McCabe followed by brother Patrick "Pat" McCabe.

Mid 1960's Dorie & the family relocated 1 final time to 1142 Greenlea Ave in Sacramento ๐Ÿš—

Bryan graduated Casa Roble H.S in Orangevale in 1969 ๐ŸŽ“ & worked for Citrus Heights Parks & Recreation Department.

Bryan moved to North Sacramento met Linda Sherrill & the two began dating.

In 1970 Bryan was sent to California Youth Authority at Preston.๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ‘ฎ Where the two continued their ๐Ÿ’ž

Bryan & Linda were married on December 4, 1971. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’’ At the time of Bryan's passing the 2 were married 45 years 2 months.๐Ÿ’• Bryan worked with his father in law the late Bernard D. Sherril through the mid 70's at Orchard Supply Pest Control on R St. in Downtown Sacramento in the early 70's,as well as working in construction. ๐Ÿ‘ฃBryan & Linda welcomed child #1 in July of 1976, Mary L. McAlpine, (aka Mumblina). Followed by a son September 1980 they would name Steven David McAlpine (Aka Bubba) in honor of Bryan's brothers Steven &  David.๐Ÿ‘ฃ Bryan feared his children may be born with Muscular Dystrophy, since God had spared his life.  Mary & Steven were born healthy, free from the disease that claimed the lives of many babies long before them.

Dad shared many many fond & heartbreaking memories he had of playing with Steven & David, both boys were unable to walk.  Steven was confined to a wheelchair during his short 7 years & David was small boy when he passed. Dad brought much joy to the both boys during their short time together. They brought him much joy as well, cant imagine the pain he felt when god called them home....๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜“
